Primitive Tent & Lean-To Camping
In addition, we offer primitive camping options for hikers, accessible via the Marsh Trail.
There is a small tenting area, 3.3 miles from the parking lot, nestled in the dunes, and one
lean-to, 2.3 miles from the parking lot, with a Marsh view.
You must hike in and out with all your equipment, supplies and trash. Some find the Marsh Trail
to be strenuous due to sections of deep sand and minimal cover to protect from sun and wind.
Pull-behind wagons are not permitted due to the terrain.
The Marsh Trail can flood in some sections during high tides. Picnic tables or benches,
portable toilets and potable water jugs are provided at these campsites.
Camping areas are closed annually from July 1 through August 15.
You must purchase a camping permit using the link below.
No tent camping is allowed on the Public Beach or the ORV Beach.
All campers must start hiking to their site at least 1 hour before sunset.
Strict seasonal fire policies are enforced, and campers must bring their own firewood.
Campers must read through all camping details, rules, and regulations in the pamphlet linked
at the bottom of this page.
