Downtown Hyannis Zoning Revision 2021
The Downtown Hyannis Rezoning effort is a major step towards implementing the goals of Barnstable’s Local Comprehensive Plan, Housing Production Plan and Growth Incentive Zone Strategic Plan. The zoning for downtown Hyannis is proposed to be revised, with a particular focus on residential and mixed-use development that responds to local context through size, form, placement, and design considerations.

The Planning Board is the Special Permit Granting Authority in Downtown Hyannis.

Inclusionary Zoning Ordinance (Chapter 9, Art. 1)

Hyannis Main Street Business Improvement District
The mission of the Hyannis Main Street Business Improvement District is to promote the community and economic development of the Main Street, Hyannis district as a desirable place to live, work, invest, and visit. The HMSBID is a private nonprofit organization that was established in 1999.
