Cohort B - Mondays and Tuesdays
Come to the Hyannis Youth & Community Center (HYCC) and hang out after school with friends. The School's Out Afternoon Recreation Program will begin after your child's remote learning concludes for the day. Participants in this program will be required to have a mask/face covering with them. A healthy snack may be provided. We will follow proper safety protocols and adhere to the current social distancing guidelines. This program consists of gym activities, board games, arts and crafts, and homework assistance. Special guests will provide more education/recreational opportunities. Parents at the end of the day will be asked to call in for pick up and staff will bring your child to you. Limited to 39 participants.

Cohort B - Mondays and Tuesdays
Just because you're learning remotely, doesn't mean you have to be alone! Come to the Hyannis Youth and Community Center (HYCC) and learn remotely with friends. All students enrolled in the Remote Learning Center will be dropped off and picked up at the HYCC. This program will provide a safe space and supervision for your child to learn during their remote school days. Participants will be required to bring all necessary school materials for their learning each day, as well as a mask/face covering. Breakfast and lunch will be provided by BPS Food Service. Please bring in a water bottle and snack each day. We will follow proper safety protocols and adhere to the current social distancing guidelines set by Department of Early Education & Care. During non-learning time, we will provide physical/recreational activities/outlets for the children.

In collaboration with Cape Cod Culinary Incubator and Jeni’s Joy Catering a virtual class for all those looking to cook different healthy and delicious dinners. Each session is 5 weeks and each week during the session participants will be delivered a box with all the needs for that weeks meal. Each Tuesday your weekly meal ingredients will be made available for pickup at the Hyannis Youth & Community Center, then on Thursday night you can log on to ZOOM and follow with Jeni to learn how to prepare that weeks meal. Participants must have internet access and Zoom capabilities, and coordinate their meal pickups with Mark Boardley.

Code Wiz maintains a low coach:student ratio of 1:3 for kids ages 7-9 and 1:4 for kids ages 10+. Code Wiz aligns its curriculum with the K-12 Computer Science Framework and represents a vision in which all students engage in the concepts and practices of computer science.

Create your own game assets with Unity and modify various properties and design beautiful levels using the terrain tools. Whether you are a beginner or have experience with coding, Unity will help you unleash your creative side to build awesome immersive experiences. A PC or a MAC is required. How To Play: Join our Barnstable Recreation party on your gaming console. We will send out a code to join in on the action each Friday night.

Required Equipment: All players must have their own FORTNITE account and ONE of the following gaming systems:
Xbox with Xbox Live account
PlayStation with PlayStation Plus account
Switch with Nintendo Online account
PC or Mobile with dependable Internet connectivity
Player Code of Conduct:
Offensive expression: Avoid expressing ourselves in an offensive manner toward other players or their actions in the games.
Offensive language: Avoid using language, nicknames or other expressions that insult another player’s gender, gender identity, origin, physical ability, sexual orientation, religion or age.
Violent Language: Avoid using language or actions that refer to violence of any kind.
Cheating: Avoid cheating or hacking.
Participants will be removed from the game if they cannot play in an appropriate manner. Barnstable Recreation staff will be monitoring all game play on Friday nights.
